mott is an inactive member of the NAM Team, who undertook an extensive amount of research into the game's pathfinding engine in 2007. He found that many of the more radical existing Traffic Plugins included in the NAM were actually causing abandonment issues, so he set out to create what is now the NAM "B" Traffic Simulator. The NAM "A" Simulator was produced by jplumbley based on mott's work.

mott also wrote up an extensive guide on the effects of Transit-Enabled Lots on the traffic simulator, in addition to releasing a series of bugfixes and other small modifications for the game, included with the third Alpha build of his traffic simulator.
